With out any disrespect to Tina Turner's previous experience and famous song entitled, “What's Love Got To Do With It?” Nadia and I live by the theme, Love, especially what we call “Breakthrough Love Has Everything To Do With It!
We are a kingdom covenant couple, building our covenant relationship, based on the covenant of promise! We have learned that marriage isn't 50/50 or even 100/50, it's 100/100! Nadia and I say, “if it's not a Win/Win then we're not in, but when it's win/win we are all the way in! That's our attitude about what we call Breakthrough love!
So if you imagine a triangle with the Lord at top, and Nadia and I are on the left and right...the closer we get to the Lord, the closer we get to each other!
A marriage is like a light bulb in your house, when a bulb goes out you don't leave and get a new house but rather you change the light bulb! So it is that we are committed to growing and changing more and more into an incredible Breakthrough team based on Love and commitment! We decided instead of fighting so much face to face, we focus on fighting shoulder to shoulder and back to back against anything or anyone who comes against the team!
Mt 18:19 shows the power and practicality of agreement. So while we are opposites in many ways, we are one in purpose! I pray daily, “Lord Love Nadia and meet her needs through me, and she prays, “Lord, love and meet my husbands needs through me!”
We practice gratitude for each other, and gratitude is a combination of two words great + attitude = gratitude! When we first got married many years ago, she said, “I believe God made me just for you and I responded, He made me for you as well!” I believe opposites attract, but if your not careful after while they attack, but to be successful opposites have to adapt!
So I am the strong side of Nadia while she is the soft side of me! She's the quiet side of me while I'm the extroverted side of her! She's the intuitive part of me, while I'm the logical side of her etc. We realized that if we are both the same, one of us isn't necessary!. I call Nadia my ADCD – Adorable Brown Carmel Delight and she calls me her king under her King of Kings1
We are simply dedicated to breaking through every barrier or road block that would try to hinder our love...that's why we call it breakthrough love. I once told Nadia...”If you ever try to leave me, I'm leaving with you', of which she responded, “big boy, If you every try to leave me, I'm leaving with you as well' So I said, let's make a deal...”If it's that bad, let's both leave together!” lol
